What can I expect for my first appointment?
Please plan to arrive to your first appointment about 10-15 minutes early in order to allow for a thorough consultation & fill out an intake form listing contact information, allergies, any medications that you are currently taking, etc. We will then determine your goals for your skin and the best treatment plan in order to reach those goals. Your esthetician will also analyze your skin during the facial in order to make a well balanced assessment and ensure you get maximum results. Every service is 100% customized to meet your goals & expectations, every time.
Every Beauty Alchemy facial is designed to work on your skin from the chest up, so you may want to plan on removing your makeup or pulling long hair back. Although it is preferred to allow your skin to soak up the full benefits of your facial, makeup can be reapplied after most services; feel free to bring them with you or ask about our make-up application services! Men should be clean shaved unless bearded. Most importantly, be prepared to simply relax and allow yourself to be pampered!
What should I do to prepare for my treatment?
Some people see results immediately, and your skin should feel different
right away. The skin feels, clean, smooth, hydrated, and reflects a new
level of health that’s visibly noticeable.
If the skin has more advanced long-term needs, such as treatment of skin aging, acne or hyper-pigmentation caused by hormonal fluctuations or sun damage, results may not be immediately visible; however, skin health will continue to improve as you follow the advice of your professional skin therapist, and continue your home-care regimen.
How soon will I start seeing the results from a facial?
Generally, facials are recommended once a month for best results in most cases. Each treatment and maintenance plan is 100% customized based on your specific needs, expectations and schedule. We have awesome savings incentives & packages available so you can make beautiful skin a priority without beaking the bank!
How often should someone get a facial?
Absolutely! We provide a safe environment for mamas and will modify treatments accordingly. Beds are bolstered, and you’ll be propped in a very comfortable position for the duration of your facial. We pride ourselves in exclusively using the safest and highest quality products available.
Can I receive a treatment while I'm pregnant, nursing or trying to become pregnant?
In a nutshell, the common goal of any chemical peel is to deeply exfoliate and refine the skin to deliver results like brightening complexion, reducing sings of aging or hyperpigmentation and acne control. Basic contraindications for this service can be found below along with general facial/waxing contraindications. After a peel, downtime will range from 24 hours of avoiding direct sun exposure and harsh products/tools to 7-10 days which may involve actual skin peeling. Keep in mind that everyone has different and unique skin, therefore creating a unique experience for each individual. In general, you can expect to feel a warm "stingling" sensation. The intensity of this can vary greatly from person to person and depends on the type of peel being applied which will be determined after a consultation. During the consultation, we will discuss all of the options available to you along with thorough after-care instructions. For more information, check out our article on the blog!
I'm new to chemical peels. What do I need to know?
First and foremost, please allow your hair to grow to about 1/4 inch for best results. If the hair is too short, most wax cannot properly adhere to it and it will result in one heck of a long, uncomfortable tweezing session for the client! A few other noteworthy facts: caffeine and menstrual cycles will most definitely impact how much you feel it. If you have a low pain threshold, avoid drinking coffee right before your session and try to schedule your appointments a solid week before or after your cycle as you may still be quite sensitive up to 3 days before and after one.
